# In the Moon Pool

I am continuing the [journey](https://thewitchwanders.com/not-another-summer-in-that-house/) with you, the journey that began over a decade ago and appears to be moving in earnest now. Toward what, I still cannot say for sure but I have an idea and time is not abundant.

This happened around 2018-2019\. I have always felt lonely, even in the midst of people, and during a time of particularly difficult desolation, I had a dream.

> I walked down a set of stairs into what is commonly called a “moon pool,” an indoor area of ocean where sea creatures and humans can interact. (I had to look this up. In my initial notation, I described it as “i imagine it's something like marine biologists might use, a building built over a pool of ocean with doors so creatures could essentially come in and be corralled.”)

> The pool was filled with various sea creatures. I felt this overwhelming sense of joy, tears running down my cheeks both in the dream and in real life when I awoke.

> I got in the water and swam with them. Recognition. And so, so much love.

This experience really bolstered me for a time, giving me strength to endure in an otherwise bleak period of my life and, importantly, a feeling that I was not only not alone, but being specifically supported by something outside myself.

Recent experiences have solidified my theory back then that this was a visitation of sorts, contact with something akin to “family.”
